Photography and Filmmaking

The Light Factory
Funtography
Session I: Rising grades 2–5. June 16–20. Session II: Rising grades 6–8. July 7–11, both sessions 9:00 a.m. to noon.  $170 each session.
Funtography is a basic photography course sponsored by The Light Factory, Photography and Film Center.  A week of Funtography includes darkroom experiences and an introduction to different types of cameras and photography techniques. Students learn how to make photograms and pinhole cameras, develop prints, and create scrapbooks. Students should wear old clothes or aprons, and bring dishwashing rubber gloves.

Lights, Camera, Action!
Rising grades 1–4. July 21–25, 9:00 a.m. to noon. $170.
In this camp learn how to make your own movies and commercials! Fun-filled and packed with action, campers split up into teams to make their own movie and commercial. At the end of the week you have your own Oscar’s award ceremony as you munch on popcorn and enjoy the show.

Digital Filmmaking for Teens
Rising grades 6 and up. Session I: June 16–20. Session II: July 7–11, both sessions 9:00 a.m. to noon. $195 each session.
This camp is a basic filmmaking class for students 12 and up. In this five-session class, students learn how to write a script, shoot, and edit a short movie using digital editing software. As a group, students write, direct, shoot, and edit a “One Minute Movie.”
