Director: Brad Touma (704-943-4594). Ages 7–14. June 9–12, 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. $160 (payable with application). E-mail: brad.touma@charlottecountryday.org
For two decades, the Charlotte Country Day Lacrosse Camp, the oldest in the Piedmont region, has provided expert instruction and facilitated the development of young players in the Charlotte area. Our camp provides innovative instruction with healthy competition; and is designed to develop better and more knowledgeable players. Campers receive expert teaching, repetition of the fundamentals, and game experience.
Furthermore, campers are divided into three age groups for nightly drills and game competition. Players learn skills by position, are taught team concepts and strategies, and play games both field and box (indoor) each night. Our experienced staff is dedicated to sharing a wealth of knowledge with eager learners and providing a fun-filled lacrosse experience for all attendees. Each camper receives a detailed evaluation so he may continue to build on the foundation laid during camp week. Also each camper is given an official Charlotte Country Day lacrosse practice jersey and T-shirt.
Brad Touma, head varsity coach, and Art Hoffman, assistant head varsity coach, have successfully guided the Country Day program for 20 years. The Bucs have won five state championships, 13 conference titles, and over 300 games during their tenure. Their teams have appeared in 16 title games since 1989. They have coached over a dozen All-Americans, four Academic All-Americans, and over 120 all-state selections. They have sent over a dozen players to the college level. These players have competed at the University of North Carolina, Washington & Lee, Denison University, Hampden-Sydney, Towson University, Trinity College, and Duke University. The entire Country Day coaching staff, along with a number of current and past varsity CCDS players, assist as instructors at the camp.
